An important visual aid in geography lessons is the collection of minerals and rocks. With this a piece of reality gets into the classroom through which nature can be beheld directly. Student can touch and hold them.

The electronic collection of minerals and rocks does not substitute the direct demonstration of nature but has a number of advantages.

If it is used, there is no need to carry the heavy bits to the classroom. Even those rocks can be shown which are missing from the school’s collection. If the projector is connected to a computer, the students can view the material in projection, and enlarged if required.
